OWL Team wins Round II of Prize4Life's ALS Assistive Technology Hackathon
OWL Assistive Technologies was founded during Round I of Prize4Life's ALS Assistive Technology Hackathon in October, 2017. Selected as a finalist, OWL worked tirelessly for the next two months on user research, hardware and software development, prototyping, and market research.
On December 7, 2017, all six members of OWL gathered to showcase their latest prototype at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel in front of a panel of neurologists, ALS experts, and investors. OWL was selected as one of the top three teams to win 5k in funding to proceed to bring their 360 degree rotating camera to market to help pALS and wheelchair users.
Over the next 6 months, OWL will be developing software that includes features such as Tobii eye-tracking and live-streaming. Additionally, the team will be conducting mass user testing to improve UI and UX.
Congratulations to OWL Assistive Technologies!
